it's a lemon!

today was intense & hectic. (tell me something new!)

we started the day with a lecture on preps. how to prepare for a demo, like say if you are planning a class, how much advance planning you need to do, when to go buy the veg., when to dehydrate stuff, when to sprouts, etc... kind of a time management thing i guess. well, i found it boring, maybe coz i have no immediate plans to be an instructor. maybe someday when i retire i could become a raw food instructor, who knows!

after the one hour session, we had a demo by linda. linda is a level 2 student, meanin
g she has been through our course once before and she's doing it again for further certification i think. dunno the exact details. anyway she was brilliant. demo was on making a banana nut brittle. it doesn't look very difficult and the results look yummy too. i think this is a possible combination to go with the truffles we made, put it in a box and make a nice gift!

it was interesting to watch how a bowl of gooey paste can be transformed to such beautiful yummy snacks! i almost feel inspired to make some! well, i'll taste the end results first before i decide on it.

after the sweet session from linda, megan the sweetest gal/instructor came on and gave us instructions on making lemon tarts! this was fun and easy!

these tarts on the left were made by megan. see the possibilities in presentation? small round tarts or a large one to share!

we made a small tart each, i was very pleased with mine but of course i ain't no perfectionist! i thought it was yummy anyway! i liked the way the tart turned out but i thought it was a bit much to finish it all...

after the tart session, we had another session with jennifer conbleet (i think that's how u spell it!) on the planning again! i was bored in this session, i guess after all my demo is the most complicated of the lot, i'm doing tomato ketchup! haha... i dun envy penny, she's got enchiladas and her recipe looks like a mile long, but then she is a genius in the kitchen! as what cherie said, you don't always get what you want but you get what you need!

anyway, i know i am sounding like a broken record, i need to sleep... so the experience with cherie on the linguini will have to wait, and the scones, and the quiche crust, and the almond bread.... have a great day!
